Barbara Mathieu Currier studied under Peter Blos, Shirley Miller (a student of Prof. Chiura Obatta of U. C. Berkeley) and most recently Bill Yokoyama. She taught children's art in Lafayette, California, during the 50s and 60s. She has always had an interest in the Asian culture and has specialized in watercolors of Asian children. She was married to Charles Hutchins Currier Jr., the grandson of E W Currier, a noted California Artist in San Francisco in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Barbara is a third generation Native of Contra Costa County, California. She currently resides in Walnut Creek, California and is Exhibit Chairman in the Rossmoor Art Association.
